How to read the scale

Each rule below is scored from 0 to 5. Three points carry a written line: 0, 3 and 5. Work that sits between two of them takes the point in between.

A reviewer records one of three marks. This is the whole mapping:

हर नियम 0 से 5 तक आँका जाता है। 0, 3 और 5 के लिए लिखी हुई पंक्ति है। बीच का काम बीच का अंक लेता है। जाँचने वाला तीन में से एक निशान दर्ज करता है: 0-1 का अर्थ नहीं, 2-3 का अर्थ कुछ हद तक, और 4-5 का अर्थ पूरा।

Rule 1

Each comment names one criterion and one place in the work.

हर टिप्पणी एक मानदंड और काम में एक जगह बताती है।

  1. Score 0. Comments judge the work as a whole. No criterion is named.

    टिप्पणियाँ पूरे काम पर हैं। कोई मानदंड नहीं बताया गया।

  2. Score 3. Some comments name a criterion. The rest stay general.

    कुछ टिप्पणियाँ मानदंड बताती हैं। बाकी सामान्य रह जाती हैं।

  3. Score 5. Every comment names one criterion and one place.

    हर टिप्पणी एक मानदंड और एक जगह बताती है।

Rule 2

The comment is about the work, never about the person.

टिप्पणी काम के बारे में है, व्यक्ति के बारे में कभी नहीं।

  1. Score 0. A comment judges the writer's ability or effort.

    कोई टिप्पणी लिखने वाले की क्षमता या मेहनत पर फैसला देती है।

  2. Score 3. Comments stay on the work. One line still reads as a judgement of the person.

    टिप्पणियाँ काम पर टिकी हैं। एक पंक्ति फिर भी व्यक्ति पर फैसले जैसी लगती है।

  3. Score 5. Every line is about the work. The person is never graded.

    हर पंक्ति काम के बारे में है। व्यक्ति को कभी नहीं आँका जाता।

Rule 3

The writer can act on it without asking a second question.

लिखने वाला दूसरा सवाल पूछे बिना इस पर काम कर सकता है।

  1. Score 0. The writer would have to ask what to change.

    लिखने वाले को पूछना पड़ेगा कि बदलना क्या है।

  2. Score 3. The change is implied. Its shape is left to be guessed.

    बदलाव का संकेत है। उसका रूप अंदाज़े पर छोड़ा गया है।

  3. Score 5. The comment names the change and what a fixed version contains.

    टिप्पणी बदलाव बताती है और यह भी कि सुधरे रूप में क्या होगा।
